The aim of this M.A. thesis is to elucidate the theory of the divine names in Islamic philosophy and mysticism (Sufism) according to Ibn ʿArabī’s theory of the Oneness of Existence. Muḥyī al-Dīn Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. Muḥammad b. al-ʿArabī (d. 638/1240), commonly known as Ibn ʿArabī, is a great thinker in Islamic thought as well as the founder of the school of Waḥdat al-wujūd (Oneness of Existence).
